The Growing Research Strategy at LSBM

09 Aug 2018

In June 2018 we were proud to present the latest in our 'LSBM Working Paper Series', which is a multidisciplinary publication that covers all areas of our scholarly provision in the general areas of business, management, law, and accounting.

This is the fourth volume of 'Working Papers' academic research that LSBM has now published since January 2016.

The latest issue covered a range of topics from a closer look at the perceptions and realities of supermarket checkouts, to insights into the UK construction industry.

Research excellence is nothing new to LSBM.

We established our Centre for Research and Enterprise (CRE) in September 2015 to provide strategic leadership for our research activities, as well as our long-running Teaching and Learning Conference, the most recent of which was in July 2018.

So, it is with great excitement that we have now launched our latest research strategy for 2018-21 which places the development, support and empowerment of staff at its core, improving the quality of our teaching, and ensuring that our teaching is informed by research in the broad areas of Business, Law and Accounting.

Our Research Goals for the period 2018-21 are as follows:

1. Develop, support and empower all our staff to achieve excellence in research that will be of direct relevance to the needs of public and voluntary sectors, commerce, industry and ourselves, and that will have an internal and external impact.

2. Design and deliver courses that are informed by research, and through which we will develop and empower students to engage in their own research.

3. Undertake an internal assessment of the quality of research outputs, impact and environment.

4. Develop our partnership with the University of Northampton to extend to the joint supervision of doctorate research students.
