Personal Statement from Outgoing LSBM Student President Julian Owusu

Hi All,

As you know my time as President of the student body is coming to an end after a great year creating The Student Guild. I wanted to send this email out to everyone before I become a past President.

Thank you all for making me feel so welcome since 2015 when I first enrolled at LSBM as a student, and throughout 2016 when I became the President.

I have seen the institution grow rapidly and it's not because of the curriculum, it's because of the people at the organisation.

You all work hard in different departments to build LSBM every day and it really is evident in the results.

You will still see me around the Guild supporting new LSBM Student President Delon Jones as a Peer Advisor. However, from tomorrow the email address will be used by Delon who will lead the LSBM Student Guild moving forward.

Thank You again for your support and I'll see you around!

Julian Owusu
Student President

Update 22/09/2017 - Note of thanks to Julian from John Fairhurst, LSBM Managing Director and Academic Principal

On behalf of all our staff, I want to record our thanks to the outgoing President of our Student Guild, Julian Owusu.

Julian has played a key role in the development of student representation within LSBM and it has been a privilege for all of us to work with him during his term of office.

Julian has worked hard to ensure the student voice continues to be at the heart of our development as an organisation and he has executed his duties with competence, warmth and incredible commitment to his fellow students.

Julian’s presidency coincided with the formation of the Student Guild as a fully independent entity within our community of learning and his many talents have made sure that the Guild is a key driver in the strategic and operational development of our organisation.

Well done Julian, thank you and good luck as you embark on the final year of your degree.

I also want to take this opportunity to welcome Delon Jones whose term of office as Student President begins on Monday 25 September.  We all look forward to working with Delon over the next twelve months and we assure him of our best wishes and full support as he works to develop the Student Guild further.

Best wishes,

John Fairhurst
Managing Director and Academic Principal
