Disability Confident

Disability Confident Committed

The Disability Confident scheme aims to help employers successfully employ and retain disabled people and those with health conditions.

Participating in the Disability Confident government initiative is a unique opportunity for LSBM to lead the way in our community.

As a Disability Confident Employer we have committed to the following:

  • Ensure our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible
  • Communicate and promote vacancies
  • Offer an interview to disabled people
  • Anticipate and provide reasonable adjustments as required
  • Support any existing employee who acquires a disability or long-term health condition, enabling them to stay in work
  • At least one activity that will make a difference for disabled people

In practice, LSBM were already committed to a fair recruitment process and we pride ourselves on the personal support we offer to students and staff. So we fully support the aims and objectives of the scheme and are committed to being a leader in this area.

We have a dedicated Disability and Wellbeing Advisor, Dr. Konstantina (Nadia) Michail, who is available during office hours to advise staff and students and help them if there are difficulties that can be overcome.

If you would like to talk to one of our advisors about us being a Disability Confident Employer, or any other disability or welfare issues, then you can email us at disability@lsbm.ac.uk.
