BA (Hons) Business Management including Foundation Year (4 Year)
Have only a limited number of A-Levels or BTEC Level 3 qualifications? All of our four-year degrees are ideal for applicants who have only studied up to GCSE Level. This course may also be for you if you:
If you don’t have any formal qualifications, you could still be admitted onto the course if you pass our admissions tests and interview.
You can choose to study Business Management, Law or Accounting and Financial Management. In Year 1, you will complete four Foundation Year modules. Three of these four modules focus on general study skills and the fourth is an introduction to your chosen subject area (Business, Law or Accounting). These modules have been designed to prepare you for the next three years of your degree.
If you are eligible for funding through the Student Loans Company (SLC) you will be entitled to funding for all 4 years of the course.
The course covers the key aspects of business and management theory and practice at degree level. During the first year of study you will focus on developing the academic skills you will need to successfully complete the business modules (e.g. academic writing and research skills).
In addition, students can opt to take an additional Internship Placement module in year 3. A certificate of recognition on completion of the degree will be issued separately.
This degree is the first step on the ladder to building a firm foundation of business management knowledge. To progress, membership of a professional body is also useful and can assist with on-going learning, development, and networking. One such organisation is the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). LSBM are Higher Education Partners with the CMI, and our students enjoy access to over 100 hours of e-learning modules, 400 videos and over 700 ebooks as a result of our partnership.
Upon graduation you will be awarded a BA (Hons) Business Management which will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed for an entry-level position in a wide range of areas within the business world.

This degree is a natural choice for applicants who want a wide-ranging qualification that gives them a good-grounding in business and management fundamentals. We aim to give students a solid understanding of the nature of entrepreneurial opportunity, so that they can become self-starters when it comes to developing businesses. But equally, we aim to equip them with the skills to be able to bring innovation, creativity and strategic thinking to organisations that they may choose to work for. The range of careers open to our business and management graduates is hence as wide as their own imaginations can take them.
In practice there are a wide range of career opportunities for BA (Hons) Business Management graduates, including both public and private sector employment opportunities in specific vocational areas such as marketing, IT, HRM planning, and accountancy and managerial trainee posts. Graduates can progress into becoming human resource managers, operations managers, brand managers and business development managers among many other career pathways.
We have both October and January start dates for this course. There are two semesters each year. Students complete 2 x 30 credit modules each semester, enabling students to concentrate on fewer modules at a time. Modules are assessed in different ways, e.g. essays, problem questions, case studies, reports, presentations and examinations.
