Building on World-Class Quality - QAA Policy Review 2017-20

05 Sep 2017

The UK’s universities and colleges have a worldwide reputation for the quality of the education they provide, and the rigour with which academic standards are assured. The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) has a mission to safeguard standards and improve the quality of UK higher education wherever it is delivered in the world.

In September 2016 LSBM underwent a monitoring visit by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), which concluded that we are making commendable progress in implementing the action plan from our earlier Higher Education Review (Alternative Providers), and we also received the QAA’s final report.

This built on our earlier excellent QAA Higher Education Review where we had been 'commended for the enhancement of student learning opportunities'.

The scale, diversity, and delivery of higher education are changing, both in the UK and globally. So too is the regulatory environment, with reforms set to be implemented in all four nations of the UK. The QAA is ready to meet these new challenges and continues to deliver as part of the system of co-regulation which benefits all students, now and in the future.

To support this, and their vision of world leading and independently assured higher education, the QAA has now finalised their strategy for 2017-20, which will guide them through the major changes in the sector.

It is underpinned by five core values – collaboration, innovation, expertise, accountability, and integrity and is called ‘Building on World-Class Quality’.
